Regarding your mention of Theodore Lamb in your recent issue. I lived in Bodicote and remember him coming to a sale riding a bicycle and pulling a heavy trailer, on which he carried his purchases, including a metal bedsted. He used sacking for clothes and an article in the Sunday newspaper showed a photograph of him and stated that he had been banned from Banbury because of his appearance. I believe he lived in a wooden hut in the Sibford area and was found collapsed by the roadside. A member of the Gaddes firm, who ran a bus service to Banbury, found him. Theodore was one of a well-known and respected family. The reason for his way of living was caused by a family disagreement, according to local knowledge.
