Brackley Tow Hall has made the short list of twelve projects for RIBA East Midlands (Royal Institute of British Architects) 2019 Awards.

We have previously featured the re-opening of this marvellous Northamptonshire building and it not hard to see why it has been shortlisted.

The work carried out by Architect Haverstock included a comprehensive restoration and adaptation to address a range of physical issues and to improve the building’s long-term financial sustainability. This included the introduction of new community spaces, a ground floor commercial unit and an attic holiday let to provide an income for the maintenance and care of the building; the Town Council also retain a presence in the building with a small office. Bold new interventions saw the introduction of a contemporary stair and lift, without detriment to the historic fabric or detracting from the original design.

The winners will be announced at an on the 9th May.
