The Green Room in Brackley or is it the Red & White Room?
The Green Room in Brackley or is it 'The Red and White Room'?
Brackley Town Football Club will be travelling to Gillingham to play in the first round of the FA Cup for what will be their biggest day in the club's 123 year history.
This will be the first time that the club has played a competitive game against a league club, and Gillingham, who are currently managed by Peter Taylor. He famously made David Beckham the captain of England for his one and only game in charge of the national team.
Local business 'The Green Room' in Brackley are getting right behind the Brackley team.
The Green Room owner Jane Kille explained: "We want to show our support for the team. From now until the team gets knocked out of the competition we have changed our name to 'The Red & White Room', the colours of Brackley town FC."
The Brackley Manager Jon Brady, his assistant Darren Collins and four of the first team players, Billy Turley, Glen Walker, Steve Diggin and Elliot Sandy (pictured above) popped in to 'The Red and White Rooms' for a coffee and a slice of a commemorative FA cup cake (for extra energy!).
Jane said this will be a very exciting and memorable week for the Brackley team. As a local business we want to show them some support. We would encourage other businesses and the community as a whole to get behind the team. Join us in wishing them well and saying GOOD LUCK.
"Well done for putting Brackley firmly on the footballing map and for raising the profile of this fantastic little town," said Jane Kille.
