Almost Deadline!

Posted by Cathy Upton in Untagged

Well it doesn't seem possible but it is deadline for yet another Four Shires Magazine.

The August issue is due to go off to the printers first thing tomorrow morning. The months really do seem to fly. You can expect yet another packed edition which features, local summer attractions amongst our usual offerings.

As quick as this month has gone I fear that next month will go even quicker. It is the run up to The Four Shires Show on August 30th outside Banbury Town Hall, so it will be all hands to the pump as we, not only have one deadline but three!! One for the September issue, which will feature weddings and education. One for the Four Shires Show guide and the BIGGY for the Show itself.

I must admit it is an exceptionally exciting time in the office at the moment, everyone is excited and thriving on the busyness. Roll on the 30 August, 10am - 4pm.

We woud love to see you and meet you all there, The event is FREE TO ENTER

I like it warm but I don't like it this warm! (Peter Kay '07)

Posted by Elle Scott in Untagged

Just a little note, to mention that I don't have air con in my little polo, which has been making delivery of the mags quite difficult, and sticky to say the least!...but luckily as we are having a spot of rain today, I will be zooming around (within speed limit!) getting the rest done! So maybe see you in a bit!

Particularly British

Posted by Cathy Upton in Untagged

Warning I am about to be predicatable British....Now don't get me wrong I love to see and feel the sunshine, but the humidity in this country is enough to irritate even the most seasoned of sun worshiper.

I don't moan about the weather often but when the trousers get stuck to your legs and you feel the need to just sit and go errrrrr, somethings seriously got to give...give me the snow aposed the the humidity any day!

Saying that its not all bad as this recent climate has done wonders for my vegatables...lets just keep the sunshine but loose a little of the humidity!

Four Shires Show gathering momentum

Posted by Jeremy Wilton in Untagged

After a shaky start, the Four Shires Show - which this year is being held on Sunday August 30th around the Town Hall in Banbury is starting to take on a life of its own! The show is the first of many that will feature food and craft stalls from the region, complementing the Banbury Flower and Produce Show which is taking place in the Town Hall during the day. I for one can't wait for the event which is already attracting a great deal of attention. It is hoped that in the future the event will take over much of the Bank Holiday weekend and will spread into the newly refurbished Banbury Market Place.

Sunny days and running races!

Posted by Cathy Upton in Untagged

Well it has been a while since my last blog entry. Sorry about that, it has been exceptionally busy around our offices recently, getting ready for the Four Shires show in August and learning a new computer layout programme amongst other things.

I think you will all agree that it has been lovely to see and feel the sunshine over the past week or so, everywhere looks so much brighter and I must admit that my garden has come into full bloom and everything is growin well, including the grass! Yes it would appear that the on slaught of the mowing season is now upon us, not that I find it too much of a chore apart from the occasional pollen relaited sneeze!

Yesterday I attended the Silverstone race for life challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK and managed to complete the 5K's in a little over 38 mins, although that wouldn't win me many medals I was exceptionally proud of myself as I hadn't done to much training before hand. I will be back there next year however, hoping to better my time and it is after all a very good cause.

Well I best get back to the July issue (half way through the year in magazines nearly) this year really does seem to be flying by!)

Printer goes bust

Posted by Jeremy Wilton in Untagged

Having spent most of the night Thursday before Bank Holiday worrying about hitting deadline, we were hit with the news on Tuesday morning that our printer had gone bankrupt with our magazine on the presses! To say we were surprised was an understatement! Anyhow - we have found a new printer who are doing a wonderful job and the magazine will be with all our readers by the beginning of June. They say that most clouds have a silver lining - I have yet to find the one belonging to our black cloud!

Looking forward to THE FOUR SHIRES SHOW!!!

Posted by Cathy Upton in Untagged

It has been a little while since my last entry, but we have been exceptionally busy both with the April edition of the magazine and also now, THE FOUR SHIRES SHOW!

This event has caused alot of buzz around the office with talks of things we could have within it and how we can make it something that everyone can enjoy! Although the show isn't until 30th August we are in full swing to make sure that we give everyone in the local area an event to remember! Keep checking back to the website and also the printed editions of the magazine for further information and updates about what will be going on during the day!
