Milton Keyne's Theatre announce summer season

The clocks have changed, daylight hours are longer, and there’s a small chance of getting a sunburn. It can only be the start of the British summer!

Milton Keynes theatre have got a spectacular line-up of smash-hit musical firsts to kick start the season at MKT! Give yourself an early summer holiday and be transported to Greece with the ultimate feel good musical Mamma Mia! It’s going to be absolutely F-ABBA-LOUS! And after an extraordinary eleven years in the West End, beloved musical Billy Elliot takes to the MK stage, ready to pirouette its way into people’s hearts.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber iconic political powerhouse musical Evita returns to MK, and audiences are eager to twist again with the Rock ‘n’ Roll spectacle Dreamboats and Petticoats. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, why not take a trip down the rabbit hole with the UK premiere of musical Wonderland, starring Wendi Peters, Dave Willets and Kerry Ellis – just don’t lose your head! There are more premiere productions this season to tantalise the theatrical taste buds. Get your pom-poms at the ready and cheer for Bring It On the Musical, while the tale of one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers comes alive with Cilla – the Musical.

If that wasn’t enough to get your jazz hands going full throttle, we also have star turns from John Partridge and Adrian Zmed, stepping into stilettos in the show-stopping La Cage Aux Folles. There will be summer loving, as Tom Parker, Danielle Hope, and Louisa Lytton take us back to high school for Grease. It’s the word, had you heard? Creative Learning’s Stage Experience also returns for its sixth year with a fun-filled production of Bugsy Malone, serving gangsters, glamour, and custard pies!

With great musicals also comes exciting drama, with a thrilling crime adaptation of Ruth Rendell’s best-selling novel A Judgement in Stone, and The National Theatre bringing two, yes two, shows this season! Sally Cookson’s innovative reimagining of the Charlotte Brontë literary classic, Jane Eyre, promises to excite audiences, while The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time returns following a sell-out run in 2015!

A host of special one-night events include music from The Carpenters Story, The Simon & Garfunkel Story, Magic of Motown, That’ll Be The Day, and Jackson Live in Concert. Or get hot under the collar with The Dreamboys.

Looking ahead, but booking now and selling fast, the legendary musical Blood Brothers; the UK premiere of everyone’s favourite ghoulish family The Addam’s Family; Cabaret; Tango Moderno; Sunset Boulevard; and of course the fairy godmother of all pantomimes, Cinderella starring theatre favourite Brian Conley.
