And now for something completely different….

Unusual Days out

With the ‘6 week’ Summer Holiday’s almost upon us thoughts turn to how to entertain the family. Here are some more unusual days out to consider.

Segway racing

Experience the unique feeling of riding a Segway. Segways are upright two wheel scooters that guests stand on and use weight distribution only for speed and direction. Segways are great fun and can operate on a variety of terrains. Hills, grass, inclines and dirt pose no obstacle to the ability to go where you want to go. Enjoy these in a slalom race or as part of a rally race experience.

Segway days are available at a number of nearby locations including A day in the Country (01869 810823) just outside Banbury.

Zorbing

Feel the recreational practice of rolling downhill in a sphere, generally made of transparent plastic’.  Feel the centrifugal force work through your whole body, giving you an experience of a lifetime.

Zorbing is available at Spheremania, Cheltenham (07857 758780), along with other locations across the Four Shires.

Go Ape

Swinging through the canopy, wiping out at the bottom of zip wires and going on an adventure brings everyone together like nothing else. It’s for anyone who likes to live life adventurously – you don’t have to be a seasoned explorer to enjoy a Go Ape experience!

Go Ape experiences are available at Worburn Estate (0845 519 4025).

Indoor Caving

The Pinnacle Caving Experience has been custom tailored to create one of the biggest, exciting and most unique indoor adventure activities in the country!

With over 50 metres of twisting and turning, clambering and tunneling, you’ll enjoy a sensory delight that’s both fun and challenging. Boulder squeezes, hidden chambers and the awesome ball pool sump are all waiting to be discovered in the new and unique underground world.

Indoor caving available at Pinnacle climbing centre, Northampton, 01604 875996

Camel Trekking

Camel trekking in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside.  The three hour camel experience starts with tea and biscuits, then you help groom and tack up the camels.  The trek, one person per camel led by a handler, lasts about 1 1/2 hours.  You finish with a drink and strawberries. We are open all year but it is dependent on the weather.

The Enchanting world of Wizards Thatch

Visiting Magic Alley and the Enchanted Manor in Stratford upon Avon is a truly magical experience based on the Chronicles of Wizard’s Thatch series of books by author and broadcaster Dave Matthews.
