Chrissie (Double Stout) Frenchum, James (Bitter) Clarke and Richard (Dark) Hughes are leading tastings of Hooky’s award winning beers in seven of the company’s tenanted pubs.The trio are tasting Hooky Bitter, Double Stout and Hooky Dark, which all picked up awards in the prestigious Brewing Industry International Awards held earlier this year. Hook Norton’s Hooky Bitter triumphed with gold in the category for bottled ales. Double Stout won silver in the category for dark ale and Hooky Dark picked up a bronze in the cask ale category.
Last night more than 100 customers packed in to the Eagle Tavern in Witney to join in the fun. Bitter was paired with paté, Dark calmed the spice of a hot chilli and Double Stout was in luscious harmony with dark chocolate.
Last week the team held successful events at the Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn, Banbury and the Cap ‘n’ Gown, Worcester.
James Clarke said: “The evenings are great fun and an excellent way to find out well our award winning beers pair with food.”
