The Royal Spa Centre have been getting in to the festive spirit already by holding open auditions for their Junior Chorus for their spectacular family pantomime Sleeping Beauty.
More than one hundred eager youngsters arrived bright and early recenl and were put through their paces by Louise Redmond who will be choreographing the panto.
“It was great to see so many children turning up to audition for the show. It was a real challenge to whittle it down to three teams of eight plus a team of reserves as all of the children worked really hard.”
“On the day I taught all the children a routine and from that we selected those we wished to recall for that afternoon. After watching them dance again that afternoon we had the really difficult task of selecting the children for the show. Dance is a big part of the auditions but we also look for children with something extra that makes them stand out.”
“Sleeping Beauty is a great chance for the children to experience life in a professional theatre production. It will involve a lot of hard work for them from the minute the rehearsals start in November until the minute that the show closes at the end of December but it will also be really good fun as well as being a valuable learning experience.”
Sleeping Beauty runs from Saturday 2 until Sunday 31 December 2017 and for more information or to book tickets please call 01926 334 418 or visit www.royalspacentreandtownhall.co.uk
