Fairytale Farm, the magical farm park just outside Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, has announced details of its 2016 Christmas Fairytale event, after its 2015 event was almost plunged into darkness after thieves stole most of the lights.
Owner Nick Laister says: “Last year our Christmas event was almost cancelled because most of our Christmas lights were stolen, leaving us less than a week until opening. It was a real blow and the worst possible timing. Our team had to work extra hard to make it happen. But everyone pulled together, including the local community, and made last year’s event a great success. I don’t think most of our visitors realised that things had gone so badly wrong for us, which is what we were hoping for!”
The Fairytale Farm team has been working right through the year to make the 2016 Christmas Fairytale the best ever: “We have new Christmas activities, new and improved Christmas lights and some changes to our grotto. We will have a magical illuminated grotto entrance, and every parent of a child who visits Santa will get a mince pie and mulled wine.”
Our Christmas Fairytale is on Saturdays and Sundays from 3rd December to 18th December and then daily 19th to 24th December.
Nick adds: “Visitors of all ages will be able to join in with various festive activities, enjoy all the usual Fairytale Farm attractions and see our enchanting Christmas lights. Special Christmas activities include Christmas cookie decorating, a chance to find clues to discover Santa’s favourite Christmas carol and Christmas colouring. But the highlight for every child is sure to be the visit to see Santa in his indoor fairytale grotto where they will be able to have a chat with the man himself and receive a lovely present from Santa’s workshop. And children who visit before Christmas Eve will get a chance to write to Father Christmas with their wish list and post it in our special SantaMail post box.”
Nick says that the Fairytale Farm grotto is something special: “We are very proud of our Grotto, which has received very positive comments – quite a few people have remarked that it is the best they have ever experienced. We do genuinely believe that we offer a Grotto that is everything a child could imagine, and more besides – there are lots of little touches that appeal to the adults too. But I am saying nothing more about that – you will have to visit to see what they are! We want the whole family to get into the Christmas spirit at Fairytale Farm!”
The animal areas and adventure playground will be open until dusk, after which we switch on our Christmas lights, creating a wonderland of colour.
Nick concludes: “This will be a truly magical event which will create special memories. Our spectacular Christmas lights will be bigger and better this year with some new surprises that those who visited last year won’t have seen. With a warm and cosy grotto, lots of seasonal activities for the whole family, our unique Christmas lights and all the other usual farm attractions, we believe we have the best Christmas event in the area.”
Grotto tickets are £5.20, plus normal farm admission, and this includes Santa visit, gift, Christmas cookie decorating plus the mince pie and mulled wine for the parents and all the other Christmas activities that the whole family can join in. Non-farm visitors can still meet Santa for £7.99.
Please note that Mouse Town – which has been specially themed for Christmas – will only be open between 12.30 and 1.30pm.
The farm is located on the A44 just outside Chipping Norton, and more details are on our website: www.fairytalefarm.co.uk.
